Study on the Coupling Characteristics and Driving Mechanism of Green Building and Construction Carbon Emission Efficiency: A Case Study of the Yellow River Basin Economic Belt

  • In view of the relatively few studies on the coupling and coordination between the level of green buildings and the carbon emission of the construction industry, this study uses entropy weight method to process the data, establishes a green building evaluation system, and SBM-DEA model is used to measure the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry.A study was conducted on the spatiotemporal coupling characteristics of green building levels and carbon emission efficiency in the construction industry in 9 provinces of the Yellow River Basin Economic Belt from 2013 to 2021 and the panel Tobit model was used to analyze the driving factors. The results are shown below: from 2013 to 2021,both the level of green buildings and the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry in China’s Yellow River Basin Economic Belt showed an upward trend, and the coupling coordination degree generally developed to the stage of good and high-quality coordination, showing a decreasing trend from east to west, and a continuous positive spatial correlation.Industrial structure, scientific and technological innovation ability and local economic development level have a significant positive impact on regional coupling coordination degree, while energy intensity and the proportion of state-owned capital have a significant negative impact on regional coupling coordination degree.
