Abstract:
Taking the data of 13 prefecture-level cities in the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei" region from 2007 to 2021 as the object of research, the coupling and coordination relationship between digital technology and the high-quality development of the tourism industry was analyzed quantitatively, and the spatial effect of digital technology on the high-quality development of the tourism industry and its mechanism with the help of the spatial Durbin model was explored. The study found that: there is a significant spatial and temporal correlation between digital technology and the high-quality development of tourism in the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei" region, in which Beijing plays a leading role in the development of tourism in the neighbouring cities, and the tourism industry shows the phenomenon of geospatial agglomeration; Digital technology has an "inverted U-shaped" impact on the high-quality development of local tourism, and a "U-shaped" impact on the high-quality development of tourism in neighbouring regions. These findings remain robust after the robustness test and provide new theoretical perspectives and empirical support for how digital technology can effectively empower tourism.
