Abstract:
A strip composting experiment was conducted using sheep manure and wheat straw from meat sheep farms as raw materials for composting. The changes of organic matter, C/N,pH,seed germination index(GI),and temperature of the composted material were monitored during the composting process to investigate the optimal amount of straw addition for sheep manure strip composting. The results showed that: when fresh sheep manure was composted with 1.5%~4.5% wheat straw, the high temperature retention time was increased by 7~9 days to 26~28 days, and the maximum temperature was increased by 4 ℃ to 63 ℃.Which can accelerate the evaporation rate of pile water and reduce the water content of pile water 8.08%~31.06%;and reduce the pH value of compost products, from 9.12 to 8.88.The seed germination index can be increased by 21.85%~33.93%,and the C/N of compost products can be increased by 10%~30%.adding 1.5%~4.5% of wheat straw when composting fresh sheep manure could increase the high temperature retention time by 7~9 days to 26~28 days and increase the maximum temperature by 4 ℃ to 63 ℃;accelerate the evaporation rate of water from the pile and reduce the water content of the pile by 8.08%~31.06%;reduce the pH value of the compost product from 9.12 to 8.88;and improve the seed germination index 21.85%~33.93%;can improve the C/N of compost products 10%~30%.From this, it can be seen that adding 1.5%~4.5% of wheat straw can accelerate the speed of sheep manure decomposition, but when the amount of straw added is greater than 1.5%,the C/N of compost products would be greater than 20,and the decomposition and utilization of microorganisms are not used. Therefore, the best addition amount of wheat straw is 1.5% when sheep manure is composted. The results would provide technical support to optimize the technical process of sheep manure composting and improve the decomposition rate of sheep manure composting.
